Raz-Kids: Raz-kids is an excellent reading website. Mason has purchased Raz-Kids Accounts for each child. They will be getting this information several weeks into school.
It provides an online leveled library for students in K-6 grade. This allows students to be reading "just right books" a part of a balanced approach to literacy. They can take comprehension quizzes and even record their voices to practice fluency. You do need to purchase a membership for this site but you can have your entire class on the site for just one membership fee. Students can access this reading resource from home or school.

Freckle Math: This program allows students to practice specific math skills throughout the school year that relate to our Everyday Math curriculum.
Scholastic: Scholastic has a multitude of teacher, student, and parent resources. In particular I love their interactive news feature. If you have a subscription to scholastic news for your classroom there is an interactive link to go along with each news article. It is a wonderful way to engage students and have them complete activities to go along with reading about current events.
Starfall: Starfall is an excellent and free website for preschool and lower elementary aged students. It provides phonics and reading practice to those very early readers with creative and holiday themed activities.
Spelling City: Vocabulary and Spelling City is a place where students of all ages can practice their spelling and vocabulary building skills. They can practice with flash cards, interactive sentences, games, puzzles, etc. They can practice sight words, homophones, nouns, compound words, contractions, etc. The best part...this is a free website!
Grosse Pointe Public Schools Webpage: Click on the Parents/Community Tab to get important forms and keep up to date with happenings at Mason and in the district.
